2008_020202blackburn0004    Over the last couple of weeks  I have had time to walk around the  East Lancashire towns of Accrington and Blackburn and have noticed  a few changes again taking place with the skyline. In Blackburn the shopping centre is being transformed with the demolition of LORD SQUARE (pictured) which will form a larger shopping centre .So gone are the days of the CAVENDISH DISCOTECH and further up church St CATHEDRAL VILLAGE is taking shape on the site of the old SWAN pub and the GOLDEN PALMS night spot . The new freckleton St bridge modelled on the SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE is starting to dominate the skyline . Places in ACCRINGTON continue to change as they will in the next few years with the proposed new bus station and new train station plus new SUPERSTORES and new WATERSIDE apartments  and new apartments now being  formed within the old LIBERAL CLUB . The now  updated  photo GALLERY captures all the changes  throughout the red rose county  so  if you want to keep up with your old town  take a look and  see what’s going on .
