Lancashire has long been regarded for its culinary delights . But now a days how many of our younger generations have tasted them . My grandson who is 11 has to have his BLACK PUDDING SARNIE for Sunday Breakfast when he stays over at the weekend . I remember my dad always used to eat Tripe boiled in milk and eaten with onions in vinegar . Tastes have changed but take a look at this film of what happened when world famous chef GORDON RAMSEY visited ACCRINGTON in an effort to make TRIPE SEXY -----Oh and Gordon the towns football team is called Accrington Stanley ----NOT THE TOWN
I was brought up on tripe and I absolutely loved it. I liked it soaked in vinegar and recently I found some in a supermarket near us...first time I have seen it over here in Oz.
Naturally I bought some, but what a disappointment...as tough as old boots. I must try some on my next (?) trip to Lancashire :-)
