Well what do we think Print E-mail
Tuesday, 11 December 2007

I recieved this e-mail below and wondered what your thoughts where on the subject  Let me know via the CONTACT US BUTTON

I am currently writing an article on accent and dialect in Manchester. I was wondering what your thoughts are on how the Manchester accent/dialect has changed over the years. Also, would you have any information on the history of it? For example we are all used to the ‘Oasis’ style Manchester accent (like on the series Shameless) but many people don’t realise that it hasn’t always been like that. Do you think the change came about when Manchester detached itself from Lancashire and formed Greater Manchester? If you could send me your thoughts/info I will of course credit you and your website in the article.

Kind Regards, Lynda Moyo
