Panopticons ---But is it really ART Print E-mail
Monday, 05 November 2007
2007_1023pano0001  Myself and the wife have been exploring different walks of late so we took the chance to view  2 new PANOPTICONS that have been built above the moors around the towns of BURNLEY & HASLINGDEN in    East Lancashire .I also took the camera to take some video footage which I  have now added to the VIDEO VAULT  .    BUT---is it really modern art and does the environmental impact ( folks trampling  over the countryside ,traveling to see them  to by car ,building the pieces etc ) justify  them being built  , decide for yourself if this is art but still glory in the BEAUTY of the EAST LANCASHIRE HILLS. I apologize for the wind on the film . I hope it does not spoil it . The website to explain these works can be found at .http://www.panopticons.uk.net/     You will need to copy and paste the ling to your address bar
