I am always greatful to find Videos that are what this site is all about -REUNITING US LANCASHIRE FOLKS with places and memories of days gone bye .but always being able to look at places as they are now for those of you who have moved away . Well I found a gem on YOU TUBE and e-mailed the film maker ANTHONY MASON to ask if I could use it on this site . Gladly ANTHONY HAS AGREED and will be making some more films around the Wigan area that we can add to the site . Well thats all the updates you are gerrin from me until 15 Oct as my family commitments really do take hold as my our darling daughter is 18 next weekend and the house needs clearing of paint and getting back to some kind of normality as the refurbs are FINISHED ---YIPPPPPEEEEEEE and we have loads of visitors coming this and next weekend . Have a good week and I will see you soon -----BUT PLEASE DONT FORGET MEMBERS -----LOG IN .
What a gem it is too, I came from Accrington not Wigan but found it spell binding, I just wish Anthony had come from Accrington I would love to see one done with such professionalism, It just makes me so sad to see the loss of such beautiful building for the sake of modernisation.
Thank you Anthony
I liked this one. I had my grandson guessing which street was which. And although he wasn't around when the earlier photos were shot he guessed right on every one. Clever lad.
Took me a while to get around to watching this but it was worth it. Remembered a few of the older buildings but not everything. It IS a shame to see such grand old buildings that have been neglected and left to go derelict until it is too late to recover them. Call me an Old Grump but the new replacements are just bland, plain, boring and have no individual style.
Absolutely great, the film of old Wiggin, took me back to some very happy memories, and remembrance of times with old friends now no longer with us, keep up the good work. cheers wallace price from Platt Whaz (Bridge)
