Well the long awaited day finally arrived and after months of waiting I finally got to meet Ted Robbins on BBC RADIO LANCASHIRE.I was filled with trepidation and the fear of meeting such a star in the flesh and taking about our website to the listeners on his programme
I was met at the studios by Alison Brown and after a quick coffee entered the studio to be met by Ted and as soon as he said hello John I was at ease So after a quick link I was introduced and chatted to Ted about the site and myself and after what seemed a flash it was over or was it.
There was so much more I wanted to say and lots of members I wanted to mention .like meeting JOHN LARGE (Ex Barrovian) member over from CANADA in Blackpool .Chas in Southport and JACK LONG in Oldham and my expected meeting with Siddie in Accrington when she comes home in August and also how talented BEEJAY (AKA) Bernard Devlin is, scroll down to here him sing .
I only hope I did the site justice ,but I did mention our love of PIES on the site and the site video of BARROW -IN FURNESS which I know has had ex Furness folks in tears and also about our member from Barrow DORIS CHARLES and how she would like to contact old work mates in Blackpool so at least I got something in
