Well the weekend is here again and I for one and both relived and delighted.
Relived because you would not believe the miles I have covered in my job this week which for contractual reasons I cannot tell you what I do but I havec had to check 500 addresses throughout the north west so here is a run down of where I have been:
MONDAY---MANCHESTER,OLDHAM,ROCHDALE
Tuesday-----Manchester,SALFORD,STOCKPORT
Wednesday----STOCKPORT,HYDE,ASHTON-UNDER LYNE--Back to Haslingden THEN DOWN TO CREWE
Thursday ----WIGAN WN 1-then ATHERTON
Friday WIGAN again WN 2,3,4,5-----back to Haslingden and then up to LANCASTER & MORCAMBE and then back to HASSY.
So this weekend I AM NOT MOVING (But the wife is on about going up to BARROW on Sunday aaaaahahhaahahahha ----I am sick of the site of the M6 ) I did take my camera with me one day this week but only had time to take one photo as I was extremely busy (Can anyone guess where it was taken I will give you a clue ,There is a closed down school called St Johns here ) The were loads I could have taken like the row upon row of Daffodils on show as you drive into WIGAN.
I am just delighted to be welcoming 2 new members this week to the site Glenys Jarosz from Rawtenstall and ex-Prestoinian Tom Burke ,and to be sat here updating it. I will be around most of the day today one way or another on the site as I have loads to do. Weather wise its been a strange week in Lancashire it started off with the feeling that summer had arrived backed up by the amount of caravans that were on the motorways and with the warm sunshine folks in t-shirts and people sat outside local pubs during the day (Don’t you just hate that when you a frazzling behind the wheel of a car) and lots of mindless yobs BLASTING OUT THE CAR STEREO with there windows down but it has finished off quite cool but I came to realize on my travels what a big job I have to photograph all of LANCASHIRE so if any member has any photos they could share of YOUR home town I would appreciate them.
I took some of the hills around ROSSENDALE and some veiws of BLACKBURN which I will add over the weekend to the GALLERIES . I have also put some new links on the weblinks page ,One is THE LANCASHIRE FAMILY HISTORY& HERALDRY SOCIETY site to help research your family ancestors the other is re-introduced MIKE GROGANS EX LANCS SITE .
Anyway that’s me for this week as I have been up and on the site since 5.30 am and its now 11.27 ,hopefully a more sedate week at work next week as its only a four dayer with EASTER just around the corner keep posting on the FORUMS and THE CHATROOM ,I will be on it during the week at around 7.30pm--ish-- enjoy your weekend I know I will . Further down the page you will see I am thinking of producing tee shirts and a car sticker for the folks of Lancashire to show there pride in being Lancastrian please let me know your thoughts on the subject in the forum.
