Do you remember LANCASHIRE WINTERS ? Print E-mail
Wednesday, 06 December 2006

Do you remember winters like they used to be .There was a time when you could rely on the first snows to start falling around the first week in November now for the last few years we are lucky to see snow and if we do it doesnt seem to stick around for long

I remember 1963 and how we in the Rossendale Valley had tons of the stuff for weeks on end and the pleasure we as kids got from innocent snowball fights some of you will remember was it 1947/48 was it worse then .The last bad winter I can recall was the winter of 1989 my first back HOME in the Rosendale valley as we had moved from Barrow in Furness to Helmshore our car was frozen up for weeks .Are winters different where you now live and do you think the lack of snow has made Christmas different (i.e. ) does it take away the magic your views or replies to this piece on the FORUMS please

I KNOW THIS IS NOWT TO DO WI LANKY STUFF BUT IT MAKES YOU FEEL WARM INSIDE
