With the hot July sun beating down many in Lancashire will be heading for Blackpool .Children will ,as we did in our youth play who can spot the tower first. My grankids play it when we take them in the car but as usual I win as I know where it is as we drive along the M55.
A memory I have of Blackpool as a child is that of going to see the film Mary Poppins on it release at the ABC. Watching the film in childhood bliss and then as we left the picture house I saw a figure floating up to the top of the tower. It appered to me as Mary herself was she really real .No of cause not but as children everything is real.
