I went out for a walk this morning with my wife and saw two old cars that got me thinking .One was this Morris Minor (pictured) which I will come back to the other was a FORD CORTINA Mk3 .
During my youth as with other young men I was a keen motorcyclist working my way up from moped to my last machine a Suzuki GS 550E .An unfortunate accident saw an end to the days of white thumb and cold knees syndrome which I am suffuring for now . So with insurance money from the right off of my beloved bike I purchased my first car a Ford Cortina GXL from D Stokers in Barrow in Furness for the price £1.360 Regestraition no LEO 421P. I am sure that you will remember your first car with as much affection as I do mine be it Austin A4 ,Hillman Sunbeam etc share your memories on the forum pages ,What about the Morris Minor ,Well that make and model is the car I hit as a 17 year old The day before my 18th birthday and laid me up in hospital while my mate celebrated my birthday.
