Hello Tom, i have family in Purfleet and Averley my grandaughters have a great Aunt and uncle in Basldon, i went down there in the 90s to look after two children for a weekend, they had a parade with Gala Queen passing the window of the flat where i was staying it was really not very good compared to the Barrow one i am sorry to say, i hope it has improved since then, i liked the shopping centre though i had a good spend the little boy i was looking after was running rings round me he was 4 yrs in the centre, it was wait till i get you home Siddy. My Aunty used to say "them as asks don't get"

a cousin would reply "but I didn't ask and you didn't give me any trifle"

Aunty would reply "them as don't ask don't want".

Another of her favourite sayings was "would you like it now or will you wait till you get it", she could handle any response to that one as well.
