At last we have some good news to report. I say we because today I took my wife for her appointment with the neurologist two weeks after her MRI and he told us that there was no sign of the Alzheimer's that GP had suspected,in fact no problems at all with the scan. Apparently the dementia symptoms my wife presents are due to the Parkinson' diseases she unfortunately has, which of course is controlled by medication, and the doctor said I'll have be her memory,to which I replied, that's if I can remember, and he said perhaps he should give me a scan.

Thank you for the kind thoughts but our celebrations were short lived as my little princess,Amy,was admitted to hospital yesterday with yet another fracture, this time the right leg and she will be in traction for six weeks. All this and the pending arrival of her little brother, which will happen before Amy is discharged. It is going to make for a busy time, par for the course I suppose.

Good news about your wife Roy, but so sorry to hear of little Amy taking another fall. The poor little mite, it's not fair that a child should have to suffer so much. I bet she brings you lots of joy though eh?

Sheelagh, she is getting cheekier and more assertive,a source of many smiles.Yesterday when we saw her she was still under the influence of the sedatives but today was a different story, more like the Amy we know and love. When we arrived this morning there was the biggest get well card I've seen, brought in by her school teacher and signed by every pupil and teacher in the primary school, plus a stack of individual cards from the children.

Oh ROY i am so sorry about Amy again, these knocks she is having all the time are not giving the chance for her bones to knit and heal properly, Amy seems a lively child you cannot keep her wrapped up in cotton wool can you. Regards Doris

What the heck happened Roy, that poor little critter. My heart goes out to her seeing her laying there. Think a wee gift would help her to get better quicker? I do. I just came home from my Grand daughters birthday party and she was a very happy young lady. But, I happen to have a "duplicate" gift that I couldn't give cause I was second in line, ( luckily I had a back up, I bought her a Christmas present at the same time and it was still in the trunk AND wrapped! Phew!) It's a music box with a ballerina, but I thought the magical thing about it was it allowed the child to decorate it herself with all kinds of stuff. After seeing Amy, I gotta do something to help her to feel better. Gonna send you an email Roy. Phil.

Unfortunately Doris, that is exactly what her father would like to do and things are complicated with the parents being seperated, but this little one has a mind of her own and very hard to tie down. She has once again quickly adapted to her present situation and today I found in the hospital classroom, adding and multiplying on a picture to determine the colours;she was coping very well, even in a horizontal position. As I have already mentioned, her mother is due to give birth to another, which I think will be sooner than later, and she asked Amy how would she go if the baby started to arrive while she was in the ward and the little one said words to the effect,go and get it sorted, not to worry about her,Amy,as someone would look after her.

Phil, with Amy's condition, brittle bone disease it is not necessarily impact that causes the breaks but the way she falls and from experience it is a slow process of healing, but as I have said before she takes it all in her, that is if you can stride with one leg under traction. I do appreciate your lovely thought and look forward to your email.

Roy, that lass is wise beyond her years coming out with a statement like that, if only they could fix the cause of her brittle bones. Syd.

She's a little treasure Roy, and kids are unbelievably resilient, sometimes I think because they just don't understand how serious things are, just as well.
Love the card from her little school pals, she is obviously very popular. How long do they think she might be in hospital this time Roy??
