Hi John, oh my goodness could not live in that type of weather again. Will stick to my sunny South Africa for now. Jackie

This kind of weather was my main reason for crossing Canada off my, "Where shall I go list"
The only place for the white stuff is on a Christmas card, I keep telling Steve, my oldest son. that he must be a masochist, he is on of those people who tie planks to their feet and slide down snowy mountain slopes.

It was cold here yestrday, minus 18 in the night going up to minus 4 in the day, but luckily there was no wind to cut through you.
I'm with John,I don't like the winters at all, also I'm a driver so it's all the harder.
The Canadian winter can be a cruel thing.
I remember in 1967, (my first Canadian winter), I had to walk no more than a mile to the local shopping centre. It was bitter so I always put a scarf over my mouth so I could talk when I got there and make sense to whoever I was speaking to, otherwise my mouth would have been frozen and I would have made no sense at all.
By the way, the scarf was always covered with ice when you took it off and was hard to bend.
Phil.

It will be officially summer here next week but on the news last night they had reports of several inches of snow. The snow resorts actually got more than they'd had during the ski season. How was it your way Bernice?

OK,we had 3 inches of snow here in Norwich this morning(Oops,I mean yesterday[Sunday] morning!) & the city & county was paralised & gridlocked for several hours. It's now thawing but it's still pretty horrible out there. When will we learn to deal with snow in England?Yes,it's very rare to have these conditions in November, but whenever we have more than a couple of inches the country grinds to a halt. How did we cope in 1962/63(The year of the Big Freeze)?

I thought it was the next year but I coped by emigrating to a warmer country. I didn't do it right away but after a just few years of miner's strikes, Rail strikes, post strikes and power cuts I'd had enough.

It's rough weather her tonight, winds howling, there's a storm coming from Western Canada and a storm coming from Texas at the same time. It's snowing, it's raining and it's cowd out there.
