You beat me to it John, mind you seeing as it took me to drive two hours for a normally ten minute drive home , not surprised.
I hear it's coming from Minnisota, they know their snow in Minnisota.
It's made a mess tonight, black ice all over the place and shutting down highways.
Glad I'm Home!
Hahahaha, ere we go again John, Harold get thee shovel out, Jeni do you have snow tires, (tyres!) on?
You may have read there's a shortage of them, thanks to Quebec. LOL.
Phil.

Is Minnesota where there have the phenomenon that generates lots of snow, it was I think copied by the snow making machines? Some lake that is nearby naturally causes lots of water vapour to float in the air, the cold air then turns it to snow. The unusual thing about this type of snow is that it is created at low level causing it to have different properties to the majority of snow, I can't remember what the result is, it makes it last longer or shorter or something. A few years ago there was a detailed thread about it on another but now defunct board and I cannot recall the exact details.

Hi Guys!
Yeeees, we have the snow...wading through the stuff we is. We've had well over a foot here on the shores of Lake Huron and there's plenty more to come.I've been out and filled all the bird feeders and we may venture into town tomorrow (ten miles) for some food for us!
We hadn't had a chance to get our Christmas lights up yet but fortunately Steve put my snow tyres on the CRV a few days back and put his on his Highlander yesterday....I know a lot of folk don't like SUV's but when your life is literally riding on your tyres and your skills on the road, you need a good vehicle out here. I've had too many nerve-wracking highway trips in ordinary vehicles and we have always put on snow tyres....they're just so much safer than even all-season tyres. Roll on Spring!

Oooooh John I am shivering looking at the pics on that link.

I suppose you learn to live with it after so many years? Don't think I could cope with it now.

Well, B----R we thought it was bad here in good old Blackpool for being cold, but think I will settle for my weather rather than yours, Don't mind the snow, but can I have it without the Arctic Conditions
