Hello Beejay,
We watched the USA elections, I think it got alot of airplay here as USA is about to go into a free trade agreement with NZ, and alot of Americans were based here in WW2 for the Pacific campaign.
If you have not listened to this album its worth sipping a brandy or whisky to of an evening.
Roger Waters( of Pink Floyd) with his personal tribute to the Falklands war THE FINAL CUT and the way Britain was heading back in the mid 80's.Its like poetry put to music , first time I heard it enjoyed sone of it but not overly impressed but second time to listen to his lyrics was deep and moving in parts.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjFZLJA3Wqg&feature=relatedA friendly word of warning however, some of the songs contain swear words in that album as some songs are sung in anger. The above links do not have any swearing in them but do contain footage of war.
Its a tribute to all those lost in wars and lets hope we never see it again.
Waters created a well crafted album aimed at the ruling class and establishment, his song about the world leaders of that period is a subtle classic.
all the best,
Wallace
