Nice one Phil.

Thought of you last weekend, when I was up in St Annes; the home of Gigli's butcher's shop, where superlative pies are sold - proper pies, not a thin envelope of pastry containing mush.

'Best in Show' must go to their steak and mushroom plate pie, which they sell in portions the size of two ordinary pies. Braising steak, flat mushrooms, onions and a thick succulent gravy all combine to produce a gastronomic sensation equivalent to a heavenly choir singing anthems of joy on your taste buds.

All the best,

Finbar.

MIND YOU WE CANT SMELL YOU

Take care Lynda

You might not be able to niff me, but I still can, this is after three baths and several showers. Not complaining tho, the garlic juice was a product to keep mozzies away from your garden, so I should be reet for the whole summer

Hello all, hope you're all well.
I had a chuckle today, I watched a field mouse try to get up a curb, it couldn't. It kept running a few feet, toes going a mile a minute, then stop and look up the curb, nope, too high. Another few feet it would stop, stand on it's hind legs, sniff, and go again. It was trying so hard! I thought another few feet and he'd have have it cracked and be home free, cause the curb stopped and a grass verge took over. Nope, there was a cat waiting at the verge, and I swear he were licking his chops. I know I interfered with nature
but I couldn't help myself. The mouse deserved another chance. I scared the cat off, (and boy! he Didn't want to leave!), sometimes we all deserve a break.

Phil, I would have done the same, I just don't like cats, to me they are nature bludgers.

Doris, Marg, the lady in the photos says she thinks that the big male tiger was doped as well as being well secured.
I have only ever seen one tiger, twenty something years ago at a place called Orana Park near Christchurch.
It was lying on a platform in the branches of a dead tree, the sun was shining on it.
It was one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen.I can still see it in my minds eye.

Another good laugh after a silly happening.
I got to work this morning and in the cab of the truck there's a moth. He was a good two and a half inches and quite a bonny thing, so I ignored it and figured it would fly away. I forgot all about it, six or seven hours past and I'd forgotten we ever met.
Then the silly happening, and I must admit, it was a good un. LOL.
I was delivering to a food place, very clean, very sanitary, the place you have to wear a hairnet over your hair and beard, and for the very hairy fellas,,,,(Or women), over their ears. No bugs in this place, and very nice to know that.
Well, I delivered the load and was getting the bill signed,,,,and I feel this tickle on me leg. Before I lifted my pant leg up, I thought, Nawwww, no way, it couldn't happen.
Yep! Out flies the moth! Hahahaha, I've never seen folk shift themselves so fast to catch a moth. I quietly left the building, grinning
Phil.

"Only in Canada, eh, Phil? Pity!"

The above except for the 'Phil', was a TV ad for Red Rose Tea, sold in Canada. The line was spoken in a Southern England twang.

Saw a good one earlier today in Marks & Spencer's food hall, Wigan.
Elegant gent in pinstripe suit (bit of a poser actually) talking to attractive young girl. It was easy to see he was trying to impress her.
During course of conversation he leaned back, casually resting his arm on what he thought was a display shelf, only it wasn't.
It was in fact one of those tall trolleys used for moving bakery trays, and when he put his weight on it, it moved off at a rate of knots, with imaginable consequences - elegant gent goes flying, attractive girl pretends she isn't with him, and Finbar slopes off into next aisle for a good laugh.
