Another silly happening. I wash washing thw windows in the living room today, and I have a balcony door from ceiling to floor. I must have done a grand job cause when I were finished and going to retrieve the Windex from the balcony, ( I did inside and out), I walked right into the door, forgetting I'd closed it and it looking so clear I did'nt notice. as some of you may know me old Mum came to live with me a while back, and she's sat on sofa watching all this. What does she say? Ay Philip, don't worry, they don't all live in this house lad...LOL. Even seeing stars I had to laugh. Has anyone heard that before? Phil.

I used to get about 7 migraines a year...not bad you might say, only 7...but they were so bad that if I'd have had a gun I would have got rid of them that way I started to get them after having...and surviving... meningitis I think I've been very fortunate these past 4 or 5 years as I've probably only had 3 during that time...but so bad that the doctor has to give me morphine. I sympathise with all migraine sufferers

My 90 year old Mother-in-law has just had acute pneumonia. I'm real glad that we talked her into taking out full cover medical insurance. The ordinary doctor wanted to leave it until Monday, we took her to a large private hospital by taxi, she was seen right away and admitted. Many blood and other kinds of tests were taken along with x-rays and she was connected to lots of different machines for monitoring, bit like something that you see in an American soap. Anyway after much less than an hour they had all the results and knew exactly which kind of bug she had, they then mixed up exactly the right kind of anti-biotic and gave it to her intravenously. She started to recover almost immediately and a couple of weeks later was transferred to a rehab hospital, physiotherapy along with gentle exercise and a few day ago she came out in much better condition than she had been for a few years. If she had gone to the public system I don't think she would have survived the several hours wait in casualty.

Doris, I most certainly wasn't saying that migraines are silly happenings ...I was just mentioning the subject because it was mentioned on page one, when someone went off topic.

Hello Doris and Wendy, Sorry to hear of the problems your having with your migraines and eyesight. I trust your daughter gets better very soon Wendy. I had friend who suffered very badly with them back in the 90's, and she used to get one usually an hour or so before we got a heavy thunderstorm . regards Wallace
