Just got a scare. Went for a drink, came back into the bedroom and my eyes started going funny. It felt like I was in a room with strobe lighting, flash, flash , flash. Thought to myself, summat wrong here, better sit down. So I did. The flippin bulb in the lamp was on it's last legs and going berserk, it freaked me out. Sheeeesh, what a relief!

Wendy, you have my sympathy.Although I've never had a migraine in my life(touch wood),Gwyn occasionally gets one & it really lays her low.( & it MUST be bad for her to take to her bed!). Phil, are you sure it was the bulb & not the drink?

He he, another one I like that americans say is aloooominum for aluminium as in cans. That always gives me a chuckle.
Aussies call 'vests' a singlet?? My kids used to crack up when I called them vests. "Tuck your vest in"!!
Any more anybody.

Howdy Folks, Okay, my first Canadian hubby used to laugh and try to mimic me when I talked about buttons. Again, the heavy sound in the U. He couldn't manage it although he thought he did - it came out 'Booo-tuns'!
SILLY HAPPENINGS...I know of two: An elderly friend in Stacksteads wrote to me years ago...she had gotten up one morning and, coming to the top of the stairs, had seen the mail lying behind the front door - but out of focus. She blinked and looked again - still not focused properly. Oh my God, she thought, I've had a stroke!! She put her hand up to her head and it was then that she discovered that one of the lenses had fallen out of her specs... :-o
And again, my Mum got up one morning and went to do her morning ablutions...went to put in her false teeth and they wouldn't fit. She came to the same conclusion...a stroke!! Then she realised that her false teeth were still in their cup on the bathroom vanity....and she was trying to wear my Dad's.
Them wur the days! - Jeni.

You suffer too with Migraines Doris ? I had them so badly when I was younger but thankfully now they don't come as often. My youngest daughter has suffered with a daily headache for 9 years ,she has been to all kinds of headache specialist & just this past week had a nerve stimulator inserted in her head , we are praying she gets relief.
