What about when you have a query, you ring the company, listen to all the options and your query doesn't fit into one of their 'boxes', so you press 9 to speak to an operator and get disconnected!!

(Think this thread was just made for me.)

Hell, I am sure Telstra must be spying on my PC, think I have put the mockers on myself - phone/net has been off for 4 days. Aaaaaaaagh!!

Drives me nuts.

Usual bad service and I am on a Priority Assistance list for 24 hr fault repairs because of my sons diabetes. So what chance does anybody else have??

"Media pressure" is one that gets me, also "horizontal thinking" (I can only do THAT after too many beers!).. Also "frank and open exchange of viewpoints" (eg a dam' good row!!!)

I want a rant about something on the news that really wound me up last night.
There was a report about kids under 16 in Redruth in Cornwall being put on a 9 o'clock curfew, (which has some positive and some negative points in my mind) but what really wound me up was when the reporter was talking to a group of 15 year old lads and the father of one of them butted in.
He said " How can you control a 15 year old lad, I can't make him come home if he doesn't want to."
I could have cheerfully slapped him! He was 6ft tall and built like a brick you know what and he couldn't control his 15 year old! I, as a single mother brought up two lads, and I could certainly control them at 15. They knew discipline from a young age and were taught to respect their elders and do as they were told, It's no wonder this country is going to the dogs!

Dead right Caz I think it starts well before they get to 15. I remember a friend of mine saying we had sons the same age and if we didn't get control of them at the time - about 7 yo - they are going to grow into big strapping teenagers and by then we will have no chance.

It's a lot to do with respect, if the kids have no respect for you, by setting them a good example they will do whatever they like.

Just an update on my continuing sage of my telephone line, it's off again!!

Well not totally off, but I can't hear a b*****y thing, so much static and background noise it's not funny.

It is scheduled to be fixed within 24 hrs. - i'm not holding my breath.

Am looking into alternative companies to supply a decent line - we are in the 21st century and I live in a metropolis of 500,000 not in the Bush.

Grrrrrrr

I got a good rant for you.
On Friday I took a trailer out with 29,000 ibs of dangerous goods, mostly flammable and corrosive stuff in 50 gallon drums. They loaded the skids on sideways to make it fit, you don't do that, it's dangerous. A skid is well designed, it has different lats of wood nailed to the base to stop the product from sliding off. If you turn them the product can slide off easily , and it did and could have been a real mess with me receiving thousands of dollars in fines, the last two on the trailer were loaded correctly so I didn't have a clue.As with the Stones, I got No Satisfaction when I told them what I felt bout this practice. Also been ellegable for medical benefits for three weeks, haven't got em yet.
Look out, I'm in the mood to tell em where to shove the job, heehee. Oh God, I will enjoy that so much!
Phil.

Good morning to all fellow lancashire folk. This is my first post so I would like to start by saying cheers to John for creating this site, I think its great. Sorry I couldn't make Ozzy Mills the other week John am absolutely snowed under at work, however if you could keep me informed of any other gigs that Penny Black are doing I would be most grateful.
Does anyone know of any medieval days or nights that take place, I've been trying to find one for ages but to no avail. We went to Houghton Tower the other month with a promise of medieval fayre, battle re enactments and so on and what an absolute washout that was. They had one cannon which they fired twice and that was pretty much it. I don't know who was more dissapointed, me or the kids. Anyway if anyone does know of anything please let me know. Well I'd better sign off as we are moving house today and I am sat among a sea of cardboard boxes that won't shift themselves.
My rant of the day is why does it take Sky approx 2 weeks to re-connect your broadband and then charge £60 quid for the privilige, Dick Turpin wore a mask at least. And finally, did anyone watch that poor effort by Englands Finest last night, "oh my word" and I think I'll leave it at that afore I get carried away.

Take care all, God bless England and God save the Queen.

Owd Fettler!
