Had lots of young people in it, some action took place in a fast food cafe, the star would often use the public loo when he wanted to discuss or plot something, he had an expression something like "come into my office"; I think from about then others started to use the expression to describe any place of work. It might have been a bit of sarcasm by real workers having a go at those who worked in conventional offices. When I worked for an airline some cabin crew often described the aeroplane as their flying office.

When folk say, you'll have to give 110 percent. No, 100 percent is tops. Phil.

Hi John,
I am sorry that you have been upset in whatever way. We members do not like our "chief" of our very being here, hurt But I am pleased that he is not one of our posters.
I think that sometimes that we are all guilty of something we did not do. I for one find the old memory lets me down. However, I think this may not be the case or else you would not be so angry.
Now I am back from a hol. I am pleased to see a feature coming up on the Accrington Pals. I discovered that a great uncle of mine was one of them. I shall be watching out for that one. Regards. Vonny

Doris, funny you should mention "Programme not responding" as for the last two or three weeks a lot of times when I go to shut down my computer I get the same thing. It seems to happen mostly if I try to shut down withsome stuff open, Internet, email or anything else, but I get a dialogue box that has two boxes in it, "Cancel" (the shutdown) or "End now", the end now always works. NEVER EVER unless you have no other option shut dow by turning the switch on the wall off, a mate of mine used to always do this until his computer packed up completely , it cost him a fortune to get it fixed. Syd.

I have some plans to try out the Linux operating system, keep hearing mixed reports about it but it does seem possible that it may not have quite as many problems as windows, in particular the ones that you've just mentioned.

Nigel, my next door neighbour has Linux it can be a bit complicated, i asked about tne workings he said it would be a bit difficult for me, you have to type in what you want, it searches on their website, no windows i don't think they have IE, but you should get the hang of, get some manuals and read up on Linux and see if if it suits you also they have their own security, when i see Ralph i will ask him for some advise. Regards Doris doris, the next time it happens try the three fingered salute, with your left hand hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys at the left hand side of your keyboard, then still holding them down press the Del key on the right of your keyboard, wait a few (100 seconds then if nothing happens try again. Ususlly you will get a dialogue bow saying something like repeating Ctrl/alt/Del. again will restart your computer, this does the same as turning the power off bit is much more kind to your computers components. Syd.

Definitely no IE which is a good thing. I use Mozilla Firefox anyway which I find much safer and faster than IE but it is not for everyone.

Why is it that Mozarilla Firefox shows your e-mails for all to read when google allows you to "open". Does anyone know how to make M.F. private? Thank you Vonny

I've never had any problem like that with Firefox. E-Mails will only display on my screen once that I've logged in. Sounds like yours has been configured to log in automatically.
