I've just spent a lovely evening with Gwyn.The weather has been glorious all week here in Norfolk.We have had the weekend to ourselves(Her youngest son,aged 16,has been sleeping over at his brother's[father of Jack & Lewis,both of whom have Chicken pox!]).So tonight,we sat out on our newly laid patio with a bottle of Aussie Chardonnay,several citronella candles to keep the mozzies at bay,listening to the birds singing until it was almost dark & taking in the heady scent of the Stocks which are already in flower.Simple pleasures,but a really lovely evening.

Roy, that's life at it's best, glad you and Gwyn enjoyed yourselves.

Heck Roy me and the wife did the same thing a loverly barmy night sat out the back listening to the sound of the birds ,chatting something we don't do a lot of with me doing nights and had a relaxing drink or 6 ---I havent felt so chilled out for ages life is wonderful at the moment

Bernice,Yes it was really nice to have some quality time.We've had precious little of that for a while.With the hours I've been working we've been like ships passing in the night.

Hi Roy thats good enjoy it while you can because its apsolutely chucking it down in Barrow, i use to have wallflowers and after tea when the window is open the smell was lovely. Regards Doris

Roy, you have the right idea, just "smell the roses". As they say you won't hear too many people on their deathbeds saying "Gee I wish I had spent more time at work". Just the opposite in fact??

We managed some more quality time this afternoon.We just jumped in the car & drove to Wroxham/Hoveton,self-styled capital of the Norfolk Broads. They're twin villages,Wroxham being on the Norwich side of the river Bure & Hoveton on the other side.
We just spent a couple of hours having a little wander then getting fish & chips,which we ate on the river bank & just sat for a while & chilled.

Did it again tonight,bottle of wine on the patio,smelling the 10 week stocks & other scents & just generally catching up with each other.What more could a man ask for,except for a lottery win & early retirement?(Could someone please put my balls back into the draw?!?!)
