Hi Doris and Roly

I am quite sure that if your phone is off for 3 days plus and if it is BT's fault, you can put a claim in to them and get a refund on your next phone bill.

It is worth looking into. The money is better in your pocket than theirs, they charge enough.

Stories like these always remind me of an Alas Smith & Jones sketch. Telephone Engineer walks in and says "You've got a faulty phone somewhere", the bloke in the room smiles, has a very relieved and happy look, he then points to the faulty phone. Without a word the telephone engineer opens his toolkit, pulls out a piece of white card and places it on the phone and walks out. Camera zooms in and the card says "Out of Order".

Nice one Nigel

It could have been a yellow one if the WM had been on the job

Hi Doris

Get back in touch with BT and get a claim put in.
It is money you are entitled to for the inconvenience of not having your phone line in working order. Don't forget they will still charge you for the time that your phone line was out of order. SO GET IT CLAIMED BACK.

sheelagh, I agree and I have watched couples and one of them is on the phone and even friends, and one of them of the phone, which makes me think you are never alone when you have a phone except the person next to you, they are on their own. I think it is very rude to have your phone on when in company unless it is for emergencies. What did we do before them? Vonny

My latest Phone rant is the "Call Waiting". When you call someone as required by work, and the person on the other end says "Do you realise I was on an important phone call and cut it short to take your call"

1. I am not psychic so - no I didn't know
2. If the call was THAT important why hang up when another call is coming thro'?

Or what is even worse when I am talking to a friend and they "Have to go" there is another call coming thro'!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaagh. Let them call you back some other time??

There glad to get that off my chest.

Sheelagh

I hate it when you phone a large firm or government department and they have recorded messages asking you to press buttons and then they bombard you with inane messages, often you can be waiting for ten minutes before a human comes on the line and then they have no idea how to speak on the phone, they whisper or mumble, many have terrible accents which seem to be magnified on the phone. Many times you say something and there is dead silence, after about ten seconds of no response I usually say "are you still there", they do not realise how downright rude they are or perhaps they do.
